My sister went to the Temple!

My amazing little sister Debbie went to the Temple this past Thursday Oct 17th.  She has been preparing her self for quite a while and wanted to go through so that she could be at Aleana's sealing, but the timing was not right.  She continued to prepare and meet with her Bishop and her told her he felt it was the right time and she was ready.

She went through the 5:00 session at the Brigham City Temple.  I guess the big guy down stairs did not want us to go.  I had set up with my friend Chelsie Atkinson about a month in advance to watch Aleana while we were at the temple. Then about a week before she told me that something came up and she was not going to be able to watch her.  So I a text sever of my friends with out kids to see if they could watch her but non of them could.  Then I called up the Kjar's who would have been one of our first choices but we did not want to add another kid to their plate for that long.  They were willing and so I stopped worrying.  However the day of the session Damaris called to tell me that her family was sick and they would still be willing to watch her but just to let me know.  Well this was at 11 am but I did not realize she called until almost 2:00 and we need to be to the temple by 4:30.  So after several call to Curt, Damaris, and Heather Dutson we were able to get it figured out and Heather was willing to watch her.  We would have just had the Kjars watch her but Aleana had just gotten over a fever and we did not want her sick again.  I am glad we have lots of friends her in Logan to help us out.  However I was running late as usual and by the time I got Curt and we got Aleana settled at the Dutsons it was nearly 4.  I am glad Curt is a good driver and he was able to get us to the temple in time.  Ha Satan we out smarted you!

The session was amazing.  It was so good to be there with Debbie and my family.  However it was especially good to be there with Curt.  We had not been in the temple together since Aleana sealing and it had been months before the sealing that we had gone to a session together. It was amazing to be in the Celestial room with All my Stauffer family including my soon to be sister in law Cadie and my grandma Taylor. I also believe my Grandma Alice and Grandpa Taylor were their in spirit.  It was a great opportunity to have my family in the temple together and wonderful to be there with Curt,  it felt like Heaven!  The next time this will happen is next month for my Brother Brian's Wedding!!

We went to dinner at Maddox after.  The food was good and we did not realize how long in had been since we were out without Aleana.  It was kind of weird but really nice to be able to enjoy dinner and visiting with family.  We did not get back to get Aleana until after 10:00 and she was crashed out in Heathers arms.  Thanks Heather for watching Aleana and Thank you Aleana for being good while we were gone.

Curt's 30th Birthday!

Last Sunday October 13 was Curt's Birthday.
Happy Birthday to a wonderful Husband and Father!
I can't believe you are already 30!

We had a very low key party after all the
craziness with Aleana's First Birthday,
Curt had some help with his presents.
Aleana became a pro at opening presents after her
birthday and thinks that every present is now hers to open.
Curt got some twist tie things from his parents,
that is what is around Aleana's neck.
Curt picked himself out a new hunting shirt.
Aleana thought that the Butterfingers were for her.
I like the picture below of them both pretending to eat the Butterfinger.
We also got a new Kinect because ours stopped working and
I got Curt a Willow tress figurine the a mom, a dad and a little child.
Aleana thought this was a new toy for her :)

We just had a nice relaxing Sunday which I hope Curt enjoyed.

Oh on a side note Aleana started cutting her first molar yesterday, it is her bottom left moral.  She has but kind of fussy and we are wondering if that is were her fever keeps coming from, Poor little girl:(.  Needless to say Church was a little rough today,  I am glad that I have Curt to help me.

Aleana's 12 month stats and Halloween party

Aleana is now 21 lbs 10.5 oz and 29 1/3 inches tall.  She is still above average but very well balanced.  She still has 8 teeth but I think is working on her canines and her 1st set of molars.  Aleana took her first steps on Oct 1st the day before her birthday, she is taking more steps each day but still prefers to crawl or pushing her walker toy.  She did not walk for my parents for party but she did walk for Jesica when they came for her Birthday. I was glad that Jesica got to see her walk one of her first times.

Her hair is getting really long and curly in the back and is turning a strawberry blond.  Her eyes seem to be starting to turn green, but they are still really pretty.

Aleana also had her first major accident.  She is getting pretty good at staring down the stairs and will occasionally make it all the way down with some help.  However on her Birthday after Kaylee and Chelsea came over and brought Aleana her present, Aleana and Kaylee where playing in the hall at the top of the stairs.  Aleana decided she wanted to try and go down but miss judged and went rolling down the stairs.  I was in her room and I heard Chelsea call out in a frighten voice "Aleana".  I hurried out of the room to see Aleana rolling down the stairs and Chelsea chasing after her.  I ran down and grabbed her as she hit the bottom.  She Began to cry and I could immediately see a bruise appear on her forehead.  She only cried for a few minutes and then wanted to play with Kaylee.  She was sensitive and tired the rest of the day but turned out to be just fine.  I was terrified and am very careful to be with Aleana every time she is on the stairs so she dose not fall again.

Aleana got sick the night of her Birthday, she threw up and had a fever.  We were kind of nervous that it may have been signs of a concision from her fall.  She only ended up throwing up the one time but she had a high fever the next few days. Thursday morning her fever was around 101 so I decided not to take her to her little playgroup Birthday Party that Chelsie had been planning. I am glad she was not old enough to realize what she was missing out on. She had a fever of 103 on Friday morning, but that did not stop her from wanting to play with her new walker toy.
Aleana had her doctors appointment on Friday afternoon, which was a really hard visit.  She was tired and not feeling well, but we still had them go forward with the visit.  They pricked her toe for an iron test and then she cried pretty much the rest of the time.  We debated with the doctor about giving her shots and giving her a flue shot.  The Dr. said that as long as her fever was controllable then we could go forward.  We decided to because she already had medicine in her and we were there.  Aleana screamed when we gave her the shots and it took a while to get her calmed down after.  All the way up until the time we left Aleana just glared at the nurse, even when we saw her after she had played out in the tree house and she was feeling better.  We are not sure if we made the right choice going forward with the shots because Curt woke up with her Saturday morning and her fever was 104.5.  She was crying and shaking so we stripped her down and got her cooled off.  We were able to get some medicine in her and they she just crashed on me in her rocking chair.  We got a hold of the Dr. and he said that the shots raised her fever and just to keep her on medicine, rotating every 3 to 4 hours.  She felt much better the rest of the day which was good because Curt's sister Julee and his parents came up that afternoon so Curt could go to the Priesthood session with his dad and for Aleana's party the next day.

Aleana enjoys being able to eat real food.  She loves bread, pasta, rice, pizza, beans, crackers, couscous, milk, bananas, cheese, and any green veggies.  She will often eat grapes, oranges, yogurt, pears, carrot, fish, chicken, turkey, sausage and ground beef and  many other things.  She is not always a good eater but she does eat a good verity. However she dose not like Juice, cake, cookies, chocolate or candy so we don't have to worry about that stuff yet.

She is still learning feed her self and often gets frustrated if we try and help her or if she can't figure it out on her own.  She also still hate to be clean after meals, although when we brush her teeth or wash her hands she likes to use a towel to wipe her hands and face.  Apparently she just has to do it on her own.
 Just Chewing on her fork
Drinking out of her favorite water bottle,
Thank you Chelsea Moore giving it to her for her birthday!

She is playing the idea of coloring and loves to play with my twist up colored pencils.  She also loves to pull things out and put things back in, so I made her an activity with an old wipes container and a bunch of scrapes. She loves to pull the scrapes out and then put them back in. She also loves to clean out my purse her diaper bag.

Aleana and Julee coloring on Saturday Oct 5th

Aleana also love to play with the magnets on the fridge,
but she does try and eat them and put them under the fridge
She loves the computer, she loves to type and move
the mouse around.  I think it is because she wants to be
like Mommy and Daddy.

Aleana is learning to talk more, she can now say "blanky" and may say a lot more word that I just can't understand.

Sleep does not go as easily as it used too.  Aleana used to go down for bed really easy but now she either has to cry her self to sleep out we have to rock her to sleep for both naps and bed.  I really hope this is just a phase.

I am still working on getting her off a bottle,  I have her down to 3 feedings but she is still not taking milk from a cup. I am not sure what to do, hopefully I can work it out before to long.

FSA Halloween playgroup

Last Friday Oct 11, we had a Halloween playgroup with FSA.  We played pumpkin bowling, cake walk and pin the kiss on the frog prince.  Aleana had a great time being a pretty little princess and it was fun to see Adoption friends.
