Aleana's First Camping Trip and other fun!

Wearing moms shoes. What an adorable smile!
Wearing the life jacket we borrowed for our family reunion.  She loved re-buckling the clips and did not even want to take it off for dinner. She loves buckles.

Family Reunion

Thursday June 5th

We went to the Zoo before we met up to Julee to take her down to the Reunion.
Drinking out of the famous lion!

Only glass between them an the lion.  It kept looking at Curt, we thought it would of pounce or scratch the glass.  Aleana liked it but did not want to get off Curt's lap.
On the way down to the reunion we stopped at the Dino Mine Adventure park we helped build and played with Aleana.  We said we would bring our kids hear one day.

 We played a little too!

 Friday June 6th

We went to some museums in Castle Dale were Curt's Sister Maegan works, The Museum of the San Rafael in Castle Dale and the Pioneer Museum.  Aleana liked pushing her stroller around.

We camped at the Huntington National Park next to the Lake.  It was really pretty and the cousins loved playing.  Hannah was so good to help out with Aleana.

The kids went swing when we got back.  Aleana was napping and when she woke up I got her ready to go out.  I don't know if it was cold or if she did not want to get her feet muddy like she did that morning but she would not even get her feet wet.  Silly girl she usually loves the water.  She did love throwing rocks in the water and we had to work with her to not throw rocks at people.  she loves her "ocks"

Aleana loved being outside and exploring.  I think she loves camping! She even slept pretty good and loved the tent.  She would fall asleep in our bed and then we would put her in her bed, when she woke up in the night we pulled her into our bed and slept until morning. she slept a lot better then we had expected.   Although she went to bed around 10:00 all three night so she was pretty tired.

Aleana was not a good eater and mostly wanted to play and eat snacks.  Her she is kicking back with a bag of chips :).
We got matching shirts for the reunion.  Here is Aleana with hers, it will fit her for a few years :)

 Handing out shirts and chilling.

 Saturday June 7th

We drove out to the dessert to see some pictographs.  Here is the Daisy Chain.
 Hannah and Aleana!
The girls were more interested in the rocks.
We also went to the wedge or little grand canyon.

We made lots of short stops and Aleana was not a fan of getting in and out so we took turns sitting with her in the car.
 Dino foot print.
 Playing in the sand

Aleana with the flower Emmy gave her.
Emmy and Aleana!
She loves sides and make her own.  Here is her rock slide.  She also would slide down the rocky hill at our camp sight.

I think camping was a success as we all had a lot of fun.  We will do it again but probably only one night at a time.  She was pretty stubborn and grumpy at times, but Hannah and grandpa would usually cheered her up. She loves her "umpa" and would call out for him whenever she saw him and loved going on walks with him.  When we would ask if she wanted to see Grampa she would get excited and say "uh!"  By Sunday morning she was super grumpy, it did not help that the wind woke her up at 6:30 and scared her so bad that we sat in the car and watched "Frozen" while Curt took down camp.  We were hoping to at least make it it Sacrament meeting but knew Aleana would not handle it.  She fell asleep when we went to get Julee from Maegans and slept till Provo.  She also slept from most of the way home from Julee's.  She was a tired little girl, I dont know what she would have been like had she not taken naps in the car both days and slept pretty well at night.  It was weird missing Church, it was little a whole weekend of Saturdays.  I woke up thinking today was Sunday, I think it will be a long week.

Sealing and Memorial Day!

 My little monkey!
Daddy and Aleana enjoying the evening.
Playing in the pool with Addy and Kaylee.  Chelsie and Kaylee have moved and we are going to miss them. Although they are only in Smithfield so we can still see each other every so often.

I had just brought her in from swimming and got her dressed.  I went in to get a drink and came back to find lotion everywhere.  Can't leave her alone for a minute.  Luckily it was pretty easy to clean up.

Wearing Dads church shoes. She loves shoes!
Too bad she was not wearing these with his jacket and tie.
This girl loves her blanket and has to take it everywhere.

Getting ready for our last swim party at Chelsie's and Aleana wanted to put on her own suit.

Sealing!

Saturday May 25th
Aleana and Uncle Brian waiting for Grandma to come out.
My Grandma Taylor went through the temple a few years back and we have all been waiting for her to go to the temple to be sealed to her family.  I guess she felt she was ready because for this birthday she decided to go to the Brigham City Temple and be sealed to my Grandpa and have her children be sealed to her. My mom was so excited that she was finally going to be sealed to her parents and siblings.
It was a special experience to be in the temple with my family and witness this sealing.  I think the poor sealer was nervous because he kept calling my Carol Ann instead of Joann Carol. He also had to redo my the marriage sealing 3 times and struggled through the children sealing.  It was still a spiritual experience and very memorable. I was so happy to be there with my mom and see her be sealed to her mom since  they were there to see Aleana be sealed to myself and Curt.  I am so happy for my mom she has been waiting for the special day to a long time!

It was weird to look around at my extended family and know that there was a everlasting connection between myself and them. This is what life it all about.
My mom was able to have her entire family in the temple with her and her Granddaughters to greet her outside.  It was a little taste of Heaven.
Aleana loved being able to play outside the temple and kept trying to climb in the fountain.  However she was not too happy when we left her with Debbie's friend Krystal to be baby sat, luckily there was a movie my tablet and snack so she survived.  She also had a really hard time at dinner because she missed her nap. She fell asleep on they way home and slept though the night except to wake up and have milk.
Having a snack before Church.

 Memorial Day!

We spent Memorial Day at Curt's Parents house, Aleana loved playing out in the field, with the horses and Dogs.
Giving their horse a kiss! We did not try giving her a ride but I bet she would have liked it she was not afraid.  She Also tried to put her sun glasses and hat on the horse.

Aleana also liked watching Daddy help his Dad build a shed.
The walls where Already up when we got there thanks to Mageans husband Brandon but they spent most of the day putting up the tresses for the roof.

Aleana and her Dad!

When we were not outside playing we where inside watching movies (Tangled and Frozen) to see if we could get Aleana to take a nap but she would not fall asleep. She finally fell asleep on the floor while Curt was changing her diaper to get ready to go home. She was so out she did not care that we were all talk and walking around her.  She also slept most of the way home.

She had a rough night and then woke up at 6:15 when Curt's Dad left to get supplies. We got up there on Sunday evening and spent the night.  We knew Aleana had a hard time falling asleep away from home so we kept her up until after ten so she was tried and she fell asleep easily.  She woke herself up around 2 and was freaked out because we were down stairs instead of in the room we normal stayed in.  I ran up stairs to use the bathroom and grab her milk.  I came back down and she will still crying and screaming.  Curt started to get her calmed down with the milk but he also needed to use the bathroom.  He handed her to mean and she flipped out.  She was crying and screaming worse then I had ever hear her, everything I did made it worse and she even throw up a little. She just wanted to go find her Dad, but I was afraid of waking everyone up.  Even we Curt came down she did not settle down, we tried singing, rocking, offering her milk but nothing was working and just bad her more up set. I was afraid she was going to throw up again.  Curt finally decided to take her upstairs and she began to clam down because she knew she was at Grandma and Grandpa's.  Curt slept up with her for a few hours and then brought her in bed with us. It was really cute when she woke up, we have been teaching her to ask to be excused from the table, so when she woke up she asked to be excused from bed.  She is such a cutie.
