Her hair is getting really long and curly in the back and is turning a strawberry blond. Her eyes seem to be starting to turn green, but they are still really pretty.
Aleana also had her first major accident. She is getting pretty good at staring down the stairs and will occasionally make it all the way down with some help. However on her Birthday after Kaylee and Chelsea came over and brought Aleana her present, Aleana and Kaylee where playing in the hall at the top of the stairs. Aleana decided she wanted to try and go down but miss judged and went rolling down the stairs. I was in her room and I heard Chelsea call out in a frighten voice "Aleana". I hurried out of the room to see Aleana rolling down the stairs and Chelsea chasing after her. I ran down and grabbed her as she hit the bottom. She Began to cry and I could immediately see a bruise appear on her forehead. She only cried for a few minutes and then wanted to play with Kaylee. She was sensitive and tired the rest of the day but turned out to be just fine. I was terrified and am very careful to be with Aleana every time she is on the stairs so she dose not fall again.
Aleana got sick the night of her Birthday, she threw up and had a fever. We were kind of nervous that it may have been signs of a concision from her fall. She only ended up throwing up the one time but she had a high fever the next few days. Thursday morning her fever was around 101 so I decided not to take her to her little playgroup Birthday Party that Chelsie had been planning. I am glad she was not old enough to realize what she was missing out on. She had a fever of 103 on Friday morning, but that did not stop her from wanting to play with her new walker toy.
Aleana had her doctors appointment on Friday afternoon, which was a really hard visit. She was tired and not feeling well, but we still had them go forward with the visit. They pricked her toe for an iron test and then she cried pretty much the rest of the time. We debated with the doctor about giving her shots and giving her a flue shot. The Dr. said that as long as her fever was controllable then we could go forward. We decided to because she already had medicine in her and we were there. Aleana screamed when we gave her the shots and it took a while to get her calmed down after. All the way up until the time we left Aleana just glared at the nurse, even when we saw her after she had played out in the tree house and she was feeling better. We are not sure if we made the right choice going forward with the shots because Curt woke up with her Saturday morning and her fever was 104.5. She was crying and shaking so we stripped her down and got her cooled off. We were able to get some medicine in her and they she just crashed on me in her rocking chair. We got a hold of the Dr. and he said that the shots raised her fever and just to keep her on medicine, rotating every 3 to 4 hours. She felt much better the rest of the day which was good because Curt's sister Julee and his parents came up that afternoon so Curt could go to the Priesthood session with his dad and for Aleana's party the next day.
Aleana enjoys being able to eat real food. She loves bread, pasta, rice, pizza, beans, crackers, couscous, milk, bananas, cheese, and any green veggies. She will often eat grapes, oranges, yogurt, pears, carrot, fish, chicken, turkey, sausage and ground beef and many other things. She is not always a good eater but she does eat a good verity. However she dose not like Juice, cake, cookies, chocolate or candy so we don't have to worry about that stuff yet.
She is still learning feed her self and often gets frustrated if we try and help her or if she can't figure it out on her own. She also still hate to be clean after meals, although when we brush her teeth or wash her hands she likes to use a towel to wipe her hands and face. Apparently she just has to do it on her own.
Just Chewing on her fork
Drinking out of her favorite water bottle,
Thank you Chelsea Moore giving it to her for her birthday!
She is playing the idea of coloring and loves to play with my twist up colored pencils. She also loves to pull things out and put things back in, so I made her an activity with an old wipes container and a bunch of scrapes. She loves to pull the scrapes out and then put them back in. She also loves to clean out my purse her diaper bag.
Aleana and Julee coloring on Saturday Oct 5th
Aleana also love to play with the magnets on the fridge,
but she does try and eat them and put them under the fridge
She loves the computer, she loves to type and move
the mouse around. I think it is because she wants to be
like Mommy and Daddy.
Aleana is learning to talk more, she can now say "blanky" and may say a lot more word that I just can't understand.
Sleep does not go as easily as it used too. Aleana used to go down for bed really easy but now she either has to cry her self to sleep out we have to rock her to sleep for both naps and bed. I really hope this is just a phase.
I am still working on getting her off a bottle, I have her down to 3 feedings but she is still not taking milk from a cup. I am not sure what to do, hopefully I can work it out before to long.
FSA Halloween playgroup
Last Friday Oct 11, we had a Halloween playgroup with FSA. We played pumpkin bowling, cake walk and pin the kiss on the frog prince. Aleana had a great time being a pretty little princess and it was fun to see Adoption friends.
